2012 Hawaiian Airlines / HHSAA Girls State Basketball Championships

It's shaping up to be a big year for Big Island schools when the 2012 Hawaiian Airlines / HHSAA Girls Basketball Championships get underway this week on Oahu! Headlining the field is #1 seed Konawaena in the Division I tournament. The Wildcats have been undefeated in league play over the last four years, and have not lost since the Nike Tournament of Champions event in December out in Phoenix, Arizona.

Kamehameha-Hawaii headlines the Big Island group in the Division II field. The tournament's second seed comes off of another impressive league schedule, where their only two losses came to Division I Waiakea, a team ranked higher than the Wahine in the Top 10 of the Star-Advertiser poll all season long.

Be listening for coverage of selected games all tournament long, culminating with Championship Friday night from the Neal Blaisdell Center on ESPN Radio and ESPNHawaii.com!
